Beijing: At least 12 people were confirmed dead after their bodies were retrieved from the debris of a landslide that hit China’s Yunnan province about a week ago, the authorities said on Friday.
The accident occurred on August 22 at a village in Funing county, Xinhua news agency reported.
At least 12 people went missing from several villages near the site of the landslide, according to the county’s publicity office.
More than 200 rescuers, 11 excavators and four sniffer dogs participated in the rescue mission.
