New Delhi : Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu on Friday refuted the allegation made by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that the CBI has been asked to target all opposition parties.
“It’s wrong to say that the CBI has been asked to target all opposition parties. The allegation is completely baseless,” Naidu, who is parliamentary affairs minister, told reporters outside Parliament.
Earlier, Kejriwal had said on micro-blogging site Twitter that the investigating agency had been asked to target all opposition parties.
“A CBI officer told me that CBI has been asked to target all opposition parties and finish those who don’t fall in line),” Kejriwal tweeted.
Jitendra Singh, another Union minister, criticised Kejriwal for making the allegation.
“Kejriwal ji should reveal the name of CBI officer and give evidence,” Singh told the media.
“Is this what is expected from a chief minister?” Singh wondered.
The government did not interfere in the functioning of CBI, he added.
