Singapore president to visit India from Feb 8

New Delhi : Singaporean President Tan Keng Yam will be on a state visit to India from Feb 8-11 to mark the 50th anniversary of bilateral ties.

External affairs ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin, announcing this at a briefing here, said this presidential visit comes nine years after the last such visit between the two countries.

Then president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam visited Singpore in February 2006.

The two countries have seen a spate of high level visits between them since August last year, he said. Singapore is participating in the development of a smart capital city for Andhra Pradesh.
