Aligarh: Professor Sibghatullah Farooqui, Department of Commerce, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been awarded with the prestigious ‘National Emeritus Fellowship by the University Grants’ Commission (UGC) for the year 2014-2015.

Professor Farooqui started his career as lecturer in the Department of Commerce, AMU about three decades back. He has served as Chairman of the department and Dean, Faculty of Commerce a release said.
He has also served the University in different capacities such as Provost of various Halls of residence, administrator at Ahmadi School for Visually Challenged and also as officiating Vice Chancellor of the University.
