The crime was reported Friday morning after an autorickshaw driver helped the woman to telephone the police.

The victim told police that a woman from Sikkim took her to Delhi on the pretext of providing her work in a beauty parlour but forced her into sex trade with the help of her male friends.

The woman, Suman, 37, was arrested Friday along with her husband, Deepak, 40. Two others who were held are Dharamvir, 32, and Kamal, 31.

Police said the gang had been operating for about two months, luring young women to Delhi on the pretext of getting them employment but instead forcing them into sex trade.

Police said the Sikkim woman came to Delhi a week ago. She was first kept in a house in Sagarpur in west Delhi and then shifted to south Delhi.

“She was ‘sold’ to several clients. On Thursday night, she was ‘sold’ to a junior doctor for a night,” said a police official.

The victim escaped from the doctor’s house early Friday and shared her ordeal with an autorickshaw driver who helped her to make a telephone call to police.
