Israel to participate in Vibrant Gujarat summit

New Delhi : Israeli Agriculture Minister Yair Shamir will lead his country’s delegation to Vibrant Gujarat summit, being held in Gandhinagar Jan 11-13.

Israel’s participation in the summit will include a national pavilion and Israel country seminar dedicated to water recycling, irrigation panel, post-harvest management and dairy, an official release said.

Shamir will address the theme seminar “Innovation and Technology in Food Processing for Sustaining Food Security”, it added.

According to the release, Israel’s Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon noted that Vibrant Gujarat 2015 “is a fantastic venue to showcase Vibrant Israel’s success stories in India”.

“Our aim is to repeat this success in many other states across India,” he said.

India and Israel will also sign on extending the ongoing Indo-Israel Agricultural Cooperation programme. In the three year work plan, the two countries are in the process of establishing 29 centers of excellence for agriculture in 10 Indian states including Gujarat, the release said.
