Muhammad Ali readmitted to hospital

New York : Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has been readmitted to hospital for follow up care for a urinary tract infection, his second spell in the last four weeks.

Family spokesperson Bob Gunnel Thursday said Ali, who turns 73 Saturday, was in a stable condition after being admitted to an undisclosed hospital, reports the dailymail.co.uk.

Ali was earlier discharged from hospital Tuesday night after recovering form the same infection.

“There were further issues with the earlier diagnosis of a urinary tract infection,” said Gunnell.

Ali, considered by many to be the greatest boxer of all time, retired from the sport in 1981 and has suffered with Parkinson’s disease – a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system – since the mid-80s.
