Memo submitted against growing communal disharmony

By TCN News,

Aligarh: Drawing attention towards the growing communal disharmony in the country, students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) on Wednesday requested the President of India to hold a CBI inquiry into the recent Muzaffarpur communal riots.

In a memorandum submitted to the President of India – through local police – the students claimed “violence against the minorities has grown to an alarming level since a year” and said, once again the minority community was targeted during the recent Muzaffarpur (Bihar) riots. “We therefore request your kind intervention,” Md Perwez Siddiqui, president of the Sir Syed Minority Foundation of India said in a release here.

The other demands included that the state government should be asked to tighten this police system so that there should not be any more riots in the future, the release added.
