The Malaysian High Commissioner discussed prospects of mutual cooperation in educational field and highlighted the possibilities of exchange programmes for teachers and students between AMU and Malaysian universities.

Aligarh: The High Commissioner of Malaysia in New Delhi, HE Datuk Naimun Ashakli Bin Mohammad today visited the Aligarh Muslim University and met University officials.
During his meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, the Malaysian High Commissioner discussed prospects of mutual cooperation in educational field and highlighted the possibilities of exchange programmes for teachers and students between AMU and Malaysian universities.

High Commissioner said that presently about five thousand students from Malaysia were pursuing higher education in various universities of India while about two thousand students from India were engaged in higher education in his country.
The Vice Chancellor, Gen. Shah said that the AMU would welcome any proposal of mutual cooperation in education and exchange programmes coming from Malaysian government.
The High Commissioner made a tour around the University and saw the heritage buildings in the S. S. Hall. He also visited the Maulana Azad library, Sir Syed’s House and KA Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies.
He also met University Registrar Dr. Asfar Ali Khan, DSW Prof. Anis Ismail and other University officials.
Other officials from Malaysian High Commission, New Delhi and the General Manager of Allanasons Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Junaid Khan accompanied the visiting guest.
