New DelhI : The Delhi government’s Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) has decided to relaunch the probe into the alleged Rs.100-crore transport scam that took place under the previous Sheila Dikshit government.
“The ACB has decided to reopen the CNG fitness scam which had occurred during the government of Sheila Dikshit. The role of three senior bureaucrats is under scanner,” a government source told IANS.
In 2012, the ACB had launched a probe after it found that the Delhi government had incurred a loss of Rs.100 crore in awarding the contract of operation and maintenance of inspection and certification of CNG vehicles.
“Due to some hiccups, not much progress was made by the ACB. It also did not get the permission to question officials,” the source said.
However, in January 2014, the CBI initiated a preliminary inquiry into the case and was assured all help by the then Aam Aadmi Party government.
But after Arvind Kejriwal resigned as chief minister in February 2014, “the case got stuck again”, the source said.
The case will now be probed by the ACB again, he said.
