Aligarh: The Executive Council of the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has approved the proposal of University’s Academic Council to institute three chairs in the name of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Dr. Zakir Husain.
The Sir Syed Ahmad Khan Chair will facilitate studies in the fields of education, social reforms and religion and culture, while the Chair in the name of Maulana Azad will provide opportunities to pursue studies in the field of journalism, education, Urdu and Arabic literature and freedom movement. Dr. Zakir Husain Chair will provide studies in education and freedom movement, a release from AMU PRO said here.
