Kolkata: A business delegation from West Bengal led by Finance Minister Amit Mitra has gone to Kunming in China to participate in the third China-South Asia Business Forum and Expo starting on Thursday.
Mitra is representing India as a partner country at the business summit, where West Bengal will be the focus state. The summit will be on till June 16.
The delegation will showcase West Bengal as an investment-friendly Indian state and also explore investment and collaboration opportunities in China.
Besides senior officials from food processing and industries, tourism and micro, small and medium enterprises departments, the delegation also comprises officials from industry body Indian Chamber of Commerce.
“The delegation landed in Kunming on Wednesday night”, Indian Chamber of Commerce deputy director Bodhisattva Mukherjee told IANS.
“We have 28 stalls to showcase the investment potential of Bengal,” Mitra said earlier.
The industry association will present a session about shifting manufacturing to India.
