Now, Chhagan Bhujbal’s academic qualifications under lens

Mumbai: A social worker here on Friday lodged a police complaint demanding a probe into the allegedly fake educational qualifications of senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal.

The complainant, Sanjeev Khandekar, filed the complaint with Chembur police, claiming that by declaring false academic qualifications at various times, Bhujbal has committed offences under the law.

Rejecting the allegations, Bhujbal told media this evening that the qualifications of LME, which refers to ‘License for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering’, was true.

“I could only complete LME part-1 but could not do part-2, hence it is shown as LME-1,” said the 67-year old Bhujbal, a former chief minister of Maharashtra.

Khandekar has pointed out that at various places, Bhujbal has mentioned his academic credentials as ‘qualified mechanical/electrical engineer,’ ‘training in mechanical engineering’, ‘diploma in mechanical engineering from VJTI,’ ‘LME(1) from VJTI’.

“Bhujbal has fraudulently and dishonestly made false representation of his educational qualifications with the purpose and intention of cheating…I have not heard of any degree like LME-1…A probe must be initiated,” Khandekar told reporters.

He claimed that the Chembur Police have forwarded the complaint to the city police top brass for their decision.
