Jaipur: Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) of India, Rajasthan state unit on Tuesday organised a protest against the “death threat” to advocate Mahmood Pracha given by Rajasthan ATS officer Dinesh Sharma in a session court here.
Pracha, a well-known advocate of Supreme Court is fighting for illegally detained students and youths across the country. He was at Jaipur session court on June 11, 2015 representing his clients, where he was given the death threat and called “terrorist” and “an anti-national”.
SIO Rajasthan president Shaid Khan said addressing the protest at statue circle: “The death threat in court premise to Mahmood Pracha is not a threat to an advocate only but it is a threat to the entire constitution and the democratic right of a citizen to follow his own case. We strongly condemn it and demand strict actions to be taken against Dinesh Sharma.”
Protest was also addressed by Sawai Singh, president, Forum for Democracy and Communal Amity, Rajasthan; Mohammad Nazimuddeen, secretary, Welfare Party of India, Rajasthan; Dr Qasim Rasool Falahi, state secretary, Jamaat-e-islami Hind, Rajasthan; Abdul Lateef Arco, president, Dalit Muslim Ekta Manch, and Musaddiq Mubeen, campus secretary, SIO Rajasthan.
