Hyderabad: TDP leader V. Narender Reddy, questioned by Telangana’s Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in the cash-for-vote scam, on Thursday met party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here.
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader briefed Naidu about the six-hour questioning by the ACB officials on Wednesday, party sources said.
Reddy was a TDP-BJP candidate in Telangana legislative council elections.
The ACB on May 31 arrested TDP legislator A. Revanth Reddy and two others while they were allegedly handing over a bribe of Rs.50 lakh to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to induce him to vote for Narender Reddy.
Revanth and his two aides are currently lodged in a jail in Hyderabad.
On Tuesday, the ACB served notice on Narender Reddy and another TDP MLA, Sandra Venkat Veeraiah, in the case. The MLA, however, has not yet appeared before the ACB.
Stephenson and two other witnesses on Tuesday recorded their statements in a court.
An audio tape of Naidu’s alleged telephonic conversation with Stephenson was broadcast on a few television channels on June 7.
The ACB has not yet taken a decision to summon Naidu for questioning.
