New Delhi : Delhi’s per capita income rose from 2.21 lakh in 2013-14 to 2.42 lakh in 2014-15, which is three times higher than the national average of Rs.87,748, the AAP government said on Wednesday.
The increase is 13.49 percent, said the Economic Survey of Delhi 2014-15 tabled by Delhi Finance Minister Manish Sisodia.
The Gross State Domestic Produce (GSDP) at current prices also registered an increase of 15.35 percent as compared to the previous year. In 2014-15, it was Rs.4,51,154 crore.
While tax collection by the government rose by 2.64 percent, its revenue went up from Rs.5,615.37 crore in 2013-14 to Rs.6,079.53 crore in 2014-15.
The Delhi government had a fiscal deficit of 221.25 crore in 2014-15.
The expenditure incurred on social service sectors in Delhi increased from 48.79 percent in the 10th Five Year Plan to 57.12 percent in the 11th Five Year Plan and to 65.75 percent for the first three years of the 12th Five Year Plan.
