Srinagar : National Conference leader Omar Abdullah Sunday wished new Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed “all the very best” and used the occasion to take a dig at Sayeed’s ally BJP.
“Congratulations to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Sahib on assuming the office of chief minister. I wish you all the very best for your term,” tweeted Abdullah, a former chief minister.
“Congratulations to the newly sworn in ministers. All good wishes for the discharge of your duties,” he added.
He further tweeted: “BJP ministers swearing allegiance to the same constitution of Jammu and Kashmir that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee died trying to get rid of.” This, he said, was an “irony”.
Sayeed was sworn in as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sunday for a second time in a ceremony here attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He will head a Peoples Democratic Party-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition government and will be chief minister for six years.
