Lucknow : Hitting back at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav’s potshot on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Wi-Fi services at the Varanasi ghats, the BJP on Thursday said his anti-technology mindset will not take him far in politics.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took on Yadav for his barb on Wednesday that Wi-Fi services at ghats in Varanasi, Modi’s parliamentary constituency, will not not propel boats. Reacting angrily over the issue, party spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said Yadav’s anti-technology mind-set will not take him far in politics.
The chief minister, addressing a public meeting in Varanasi, has taken a dig at the Wi-Fi enabled ghats on the bank of river Ganga in Varanasi. He said it meant little but the facility would be used on laptops.
“While the sarcasm against efforts of our prime minister is not missing on any one, the BJP can also say that laptops are not run on promises but on power,” Pathak said, referring to the free laptops distribution by the state government.
The BJP leader accused Yadav for his “bad habit of taking digs at Modi”, though the chief minister talks of having positive collaboration with the central government.
“Is this the way, cooperation would come in future,” Pathak asked, adding the Wi-Fi services at Varanasi ghats will give boost to tourism.
