Turkish-Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry opens office in Kolkata

Kolkata: The Turkish Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TICCI) inaugurated their Kolkata office on March 3 with an aim to develop cooperation in the field of education, infrastructure and tourism development.

At the inaugural function held at the new office premise at 10 Middleton Street TICCI also signed a MoU with the Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).

TICCI and ASSOCHAM aims to make bridge and promote trade and investment between India and Turkey.

Office TCCI President Ersin Karaoglan said that there are many opportunities for investment in a country as big as India. He said that Turkish companies are planning to invest about one trillion US dollars in the country in different infrastructure projects, besides investing in education and tourism sector.

Head of the Turkish delegates to India Bulent Acikgoz said that Kolkata and East India has huge investment opportunities.

ASSOCHAM regional director Debmalya Bannerjee assured to the Turkish Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (TICCI) of all kind of cooperation to make business relation between Turkey and India better.

Regional chairman of ASSOCHAM Sanjoy Jhunjhunwala, Dhruv Bhalla, Vice President of Business group of Kolkata SREI also spoke on Turkish-India business relationship.

State Minister of Fire and Emergency services, Javed Ahmed Khan, State Minister of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Firhad Hakim were in the chief guest list, but they could not attend the programme due to some urgent administrative work.

Officials of TICCI Kolkata said that Turkiye World Trade Bridge 2015 will be held in Istanbul on 17-18 March and invited Indian companies to register for it to showcase their products and explore business opportunities in Turkey.
