Importance of education:

Moulvi Mohammed Umar while delivering a motivating lecture on the importance of education and cleanliness said in Islam it is mandatory on all Muslims to attain knowledge. In Islam to gain knowledge and use it for the benefit of mankind has been elevated to the level of worship to the Almighty. It is through righteous education that one comes out of superstitious beliefs and achieves freedom from blindly following the irrational traditions of their forefathers.

He, however, cautioned Muslims that besides attaining knowledge and equipping themselves with the precious pearls of higher and quality education, an equal emphasis should be laid on character building to imbibe moral values of the highest order. If this is not done then without these moral values any society goes berserk and is a bane for the humanity at large.

He said that in last three decades MECAPS has played some role to change the mind-set of Muslims after Independence which was buried a fathom deep in the defeatist mentality. He said that every challenge can be overcome with willpower and hard work”.
