Islamabad : Nine death row convicts in Pakistan were hanged on Wednesday, media reported.
Tahir Shabir was sentenced to death for killing a man in 2002. He was hanged in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Central Jail, Dawn online reported.
Ghulam Muhammad and Zakir Hussain were hanged in Jhang’s District Jail.
Muhammad was sentenced for killing his brother-in-law in 2000 over a family dispute.
Hussain had killed a man in 1998. The victim was a custodian of a shrine.
Shafqat and Saeed, were executed in Faisalabad’s Central Jail over a dual murder charge.
Shaukat Ali and Muhammad Shabir were hanged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail. They were convicted by a sessions court against charges of murders and attempt to murder.
Ahmed Nawaz was executed in the Mianwali Jail. He was awarded death sentence by a district court for killing a man in 1998.
Asad Mehmood Khan was executed in Attock’s Central Jail. He was sentenced in a triple murder case.
So far 48 convicts have been hanged across Pakistan over terror and non-terror charges.
