New Delhi : Actor-turned MP Rekha was seen in Rajya Sabha for brief period on Wednesday, attending the house for the first time in the current budget session.
Clad in a light cream-coloured saree, she was seen in Rajya Sabha for 10 minutes during the zero hour.
Sitting at her designated seat with other nominated members, she was also seen talking to Anu Aga, N.K. Ganguly and H.K. Dua.
She had attended the winter session once and the budget session last year once.
Nominated to the upper house in April 2012, Rakha has four percent attendance according to PRS Legislative Research against national average of 78 percent.
Her colleague, cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who was nominated along with the actor, has six percent attendance according to PRS Legislative Research.
As per article 104 of the constitution, if a member is absent from either house of parliament for a period of 60 days, then the seat is considered vacant.
Both Rekha and Tendulkar faced criticism from fellow members in the upper house last year who pointed at their long absence.
