New Delhi : The contentious land acquisition bill is likely to be tabled in the Rajya Sabha in the second half of the ongoing parliament session, government sources said on Thursday.
According to the sources, the bill, which has been passed in the Lok Sabha, will be brought in the upper house in the second half of the session, as the government had little hope of the Opposition giving it an easy way in the Rajya Sabha.
Opposition leaders have said they want to send the bill to a select committee.
Sources, meanwhile, said there has been no decision yet on extending the parliament sittings before the break.
