New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday said the AAP government was “withholding” funds of the three municipal corporations of Delhi governed by the BJP, and lodged a complaint with Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung.
A delegation of BJP leaders urged Jung to direct the Delhi government to table the statutory report in the assembly that recommends 12.5 percent share of the total Delhi budget for the three municipal corporations.
The BJP councillors led by mayors, deputy mayors and chairmen of the standing committees protested outside the Delhi assembly during the day.
“The leaders were agitated due to the AAP government’s withholding of funds, grants and necessary lawful sanctions,” said a statement from the BJP.
