New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia has scotched rumours doing the rounds that the university administration proposes to close down the Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School (Urdu Medium).
“It has been speculated in certain quarters that the university administration is toying with the idea of shutting down the said school. Nothing could be more factually incorrect. The university administration wishes to categorically state that these rumous are baseless and unfounded,” Jamia administration said in a release.
Jamia Millia Islamia has an abiding commitment to women empowerment and gender equity, it said adding, “Our recent initiatives have only affirmed this commitment. The university is in the process of strengthening all existing institutions within the Jamia system to realize the objectives that went into their making.”
