Kathmandu : Saudi Arabia has sent a plane carrying relief supplies to quake-hit Nepal, media reported on Monday.
The cargo plane carried 15 tonnes of relief material, the Saudi Gazette reported citing the Saudi Press Agency.
It was received by Abdul Nasser Al-Harthy, Saudi ambassador to Nepal, and other Saudi and Nepalese officials and diplomats at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu.
This is the first consignment of a Saudi relief programme for the quake victims of Nepal.
Under the programme, Saudi Arabia is slated to send to Nepal 190 tonnes of relief supplies, consisting of 13 planeloads of foodstuff, medicines, tents and other material
