Frankfurt : A first ‘Make in India’ networking session was organised last week in the wake of Germany’s Hanover Messe trade fair this year at which India was the partner country, the Indian consulate general here said on Tuesday.
“A ‘Make in India’ networking session on ‘Doing business with India’ organised in Bielefeld on 12 May generated lot of interest in the Eastwestphalia region of Germany,” the consulate general said in a release.
“The region is one of Germany’s top 10 economic regions and home to many ‘hidden champions’ comprising small and mid-sized companies, which are highly innovative, successful and often global market leaders,” it added.
The event, organised by the consulate general in association with the Bielefeld Chamber of Commerce, was attended by over 50 participants comprising of representatives from leading manufacturing companies in the region, the statement said.
Christian Mestwerdt, who heads the operations of Dr. August Oetker Nahrungsmittel KG for Asia, Africa and Australia, spoke on his company’s presence in India and future expansion plans, the statement added.
