New Delhi : Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad on Thursday said the Narendra Modi government’s one year in office has been a complete failure.
“Industrialists and businessmen are quitting India. Farmers are committing suicide. Youth are unemployed. Where are the ‘acche din’ (good days) promised by the Modi government,” he asked at the ‘Manthan’ conclave organised by TV channel Aaj Tak here.
“The Modi government has failed in all respects. The people of the country were told Rs.26 lakh crore of black money will be brought back. But the BJP president (Amit Shah) said it was a ‘jumla’ (sentence),” said the former railway minister.
He said the entire concept of ‘Make in India’ was wrong as Modi sold a dream just to get votes.
Lalu Prasad also accused the government of making cuts in all social sector ministries like health and education.
He accused the prime minister of letting the RSS keep a watch on every minister.
“The downfall of this government has begun. This government has never taken off. The prime minister is just touring the world,” he said in a gibe at Modi’s foreign visits.
