Lucknow: Khudai Khidmatgar, a non-profit, has initiated a campaign to raise the voice of the farmers and their related issues in the public to create mass awareness about farmers’ rights at large.
Termed as a #Savefarmersavelife! Kisaan Bachao Jeevan Bachao!! Yatra, it began on May 19 and will continue till May 30.
“There is a general perception that every society or a group who ever suffers from a problem, they themselves must stand up to resolve their issues. Rest of the society is not involved in their rights based issues or whenever they faced some difficulties. Keeping this in view, Khudai Khidmatgar raised the slogan with the name #Savefarmersavelife! Kisaan Bachao Jeevan Bachao!!,” a release from Inamul Hasan said here.
The main aim of the Yatra is to create awareness among the urban societies, which have less connectivity or thinking about the farmers and farming, the release said.
The team put its effort to make people understand that Kisaan – a farmer – is the backbone of our country, it is the prime duty to protect and to stand up for the interest of the farmers, Hasan said, adding, “The team held public demonstrations, street corner meetings, distributed pamphlets and used social networking for spreading awareness etc.”
The Yatra began at Chinhat, Ismail Ganj, Kamtha, Polytechnic campus, HAL, Bhoot Nath, Ravinra Palli, Nilgiri, Lekhraj, Akbar Nagar, Badshah Nagar, Nishat Ganj, Paper Mill Crossing, Wazir Hasan Road, Sikandar Bagh, Jawahar Bhawan and will end at Mahatma Gandhi statue at Sardar Vallabhai Patel Park, Hazrat Ganj.
The Yatra began on May 19 and will continue till May 30, the release added.
