Kolkata: Before coming to the power in the Centre, Narendra Modi led BJP government had given so many promises but one year later, not a single one has been fulfilled, All India president of Welfare Party of India S Q R Ilyas said and claimed: “Modi government has betrayed people of the country.”

“The Modi led government is anti-farmers. They have taken so many decisions which are harmful to the farmers. Even now the largest numbers of the people in India are engaged in agriculture, so the government should look after the farmers’ interest. But the Modi government is trying to kill the farmers. (So) lot of farmers are committing suicides, which is very unfortunate,” Ilyas told a rally and convention held here on Saturday, May 23, 2015.

The rally and the convention was called as part of the nation-wide awareness progamme to project the Corporate capitalism, communal fascist and corruption from May 2 to June 1 by the Welfare Party.

“This Modi government is very sympathetic to the corporate companies,” he alleged.

He also warned about the activities of the fanatic forces in the country and exhorted that all the citizen should come forward to stop the radical forces helped by BJP-led government. “Communal forces such as RSS are increasing their strength, we should be aware of that and should prevent them,” he said.

Abdur Rejjak Molla, former West Bengal Land and Land Reform Minister criticized the ruling state government and the Central government too as he drew attention of the anti-farmer policy of the Land Bill. He also criticized Modi for continuously travelling to the foreign countries.

He blamed the Modi government that Central government is trying to give advantage to the corporate companies and (hence) corporate companies have now grabbed the Indian market by their foreign products. “So, Indian farmers, companies and industries are suffering because of that,” he said.

Molla also said, “Modi knows very well that he will never get a chance to go to several foreign countries next time (after the next Parliamentary elections). So, the PM travelling one country after another and signing deals to benefit the foreign countries, not for India’s development.”

Molla even criticized the state government as he said, “The Mamata government is trying to shows to the minority people that the superior government always for minorities, which is not true. The development of the state in the ruling TMC is still on paper and not happening practically. If the government claims to have carried out properly the real development of the minorities, the Mamata government should give detailed statement openly.”

He claimed there is no change in the situation of Muslims under the ruling TMC government. “To develop the situation of the Muslims in the state, all the Muslim and Dalit organization should come together,” Rejjak appealed and called all the backward class people such as SC/ST to join with the Dalit and Minorities to fight against the ruling TMC government in the state and Modi government in the Centre.

“After four years of rule of the TMC government here, Muslims are still now deprived from Government job and from their fundamental rights.

Dr Muhammad Raisuddin, state WPI president, said, “In last one year, Modi-led central government has done nothing for the poor people of the country. Had there been more Muslim representatives, they would not have allowed pro-Corporate policies and hence the BJP has decreased Muslim representatives to the Parliament. Mamata and Modi government have an understanding, people are now realizing the matter. So, Muslims in state never got any constructive activities for the minorities from the Mamata-led government. However, they will use the Muslim vote bank.”

Young WPI leader and Oxford researcher Shahnawaz Ali Raihan said, “Achhe Din of Modi has vanished due to his activities. All the policy decisions taken by central government are anti-people. There is too much increase in hate speech in the ruling Modi government, but no action has been taken, which has hampered the heritage of Indian constitution.”

“Mamata had claimed that her government has fulfilled 100 % of the works promised to the people,” Shanawaz sought to remind and said, “If really these have been done, the CM should sit inside the room and there is no further need to do anything.”

After criticizing the CM, Shahnawaz said, “Like previous Left Front government, the present Mamata-led TMC government is trying to blackmail the Muslim communities. Muslims are not getting the reservation rights and other facilities from the state government. Naturally, day-by-day, there is a decreasing percentage of Muslim representatives in the governments sector. Muslim youth should come forward.”

Sumanta Hira, former MLA, called the people to spread awareness against the government and appeal to stop discrimination. “The TMC government is using the Muslim community sentiments to introduce Imam and Muazzin honorioum. But they are very silent of the development of the education of the Muslim community. Even Muslim locality is still under undeveloped. TMC used the Muslim vote bank to win the election and after the election, they forgot all the promises which is unfortunate,” he claimed.

Mansa Sen, state vice president of WPI, Shahzadi Parvin, state women leader, Mrityunjoy Sen and others too spoke at the event attended by about 1000-odd people.
