Patna : The merger of the six parties of the Janata Parivar will certainly take place, Samajwadi Party leader and Uttar Pradesh minister Shivpal Yadav said here on Thursday.
“The merger of the Janata Parivar will certainly happen,” Yadav, who is the brother of Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, told the media here.
Yadav was here to attend a meeting of the Ganga Flood Control Board chaired by union minister Uma Bharti along with representatives of 11 states.
He said talks on the merger were going on and it will bring positive results.
“The BJP is afraid of this merger,” he added.
Refuting speculation in the media about differences among the parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad had said on Wednesday that there was no rift between his party and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United (JD-U) over the merger.
