Guwahati: Members of the Assam State Jamiat Ulama (ASJU) sent out a strong message against the global terrorism which has gripped the world in the last few days following the attack in Paris.
Around 140 people were killed in Paris when armed terrorists opened fire inside a concert hall. Later, ISIS had taken the responsibility for the attacks.
Men in skulled caps with banners and posters slamming the terrorism marched on the roads of Guwahati on Wednesday. Their message was loud and clear: ‘Islam never propagates terrorism’.
The ASJU which is led by All Indian United Democratic Front (AIUDF) in Assam, said that no religion in the world sanctions killing of innocent people or any act of terror, and Islam is very much against all forms of violence.
“Islam never sanctions any form of killing or violence. Those who are involved in act of terrorism in the name of Islam or Muslim are never sanctioned by Islam. The killing in Paris last Friday by ISIS is an anti-Islamic act. We strongly condemn it and urge the world Muslims to take a stand against it,” ASJU general secretary Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Quasimi said during the rally.
The ASJU termed those who kill people in the name Islam as un-Islamic. “These people have no religion kill people. Who have given them the license to kill humans in the name of Islam? The world is heading towards a bad phase and before it is too late, people across the globe should be united to root out all these elements from the world,” said another member of ASJU.
Slamming the role of ISIS, the ASJU members said that ISIS does not represent Islam though they keep on claiming that. “Nowhere in Islam, or in any other religion, is it instructed to kill people to establish religion. It’s extremely barbarous and inhuman,” a member added.
