Guwahati: After BJP president Amit Shah on Friday accused Congress-led Assam government for failing to check the influx of illegal migrants from Bangladesh, AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal has strongly opposed his views.
While attending a public rally in Assam’s Dibrugarh town, Shah said, “Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi is talking to AIUDF for alliance. How can a party which is talking to AIUDF check the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh?”
Ajmal said, “Amit Shah says it’s not possible to solve illegal immigration along with AIUDF. In fact it’s BJP who is brokering for Bangladeshis. They better not lecture us”.
Reacting to Assam BJP President Sarbananda Sonowal’s that Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi and Ajmal are trying to make Assam a part of Bangladesh, the Dhubri MP said that it’s BJP and Congress who have handed over land to Bangladesh.
Slamming the BJP, he said that they are resorting to ‘Oral Terrorism’. “BJP’s development Jumla (empty promise) has been exposed. Now the only option left to them is to promote fear psychosis,” Ajmal tweeted.
This comes after Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi had expressed his desire to go for a ‘Mega Understanding’ like Bihar to unite all parties against BJP. Though Ajmal and Gogoi had met number of times recently including in Patna during the oath taking ceremony of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, Ajmal has been denying that AIUDF will ally with Congress.
