Kabul: Over 100 militants have been killed in military operations in Afghanistan since Saturday, said the country’s defence ministry on Sunday.
“Afghan National Army carried out operations across the country over the past 24 hours in which 103 armed Taliban members were killed, 97 were injured and 10 others were arrested,” Xinhua quoted the ministry as saying in a statement.
The security forces also recovered several roadside bombs and landmines in addition to seizing weapons and ammunition.
A total of 17 army personnel were killed in clashes and roadside bomb attacks within the same period.
Security forces have pressed on to clear militants in restive provinces as Taliban-led violence continued in Afghanistan.
