Srinagar: Bodies of three youths with bullet injuries were found dumped in an apple orchard in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday morning, triggering protests in the area.
Clashes broke out between protestors and security forces in Sopore and Baramulla towns with the protestors blocking the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway at Pattan and Kreeri. The protests came after the bodies of the three youths, aged between 17 and 21, were found in an orchard in Shuru (Dangerpora) village of Pattan tehsil in the morning.
Protestors also forced shut the markets in Sopore and Baramulla as the news about the death of the three youths spread in the district.
Police took the bodies for autopsy and other legal formalities to the district hospital in Baramulla. Local residents said the bodies bore bullet and torture marks.
The dead youth have not been identified so far.
