New Delhi : Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Nagaland are still out of the purview of the National Food Security Act (NFSA), union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan informed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
“Tamil Nadu had requested in September 2015 to extend the process of implementation of NFSA in the state by at least one year. Kerala has informed that the state will be able to implement NFSA only after the ongoing state assembly elections get concluded, while Nagaland has indicated implementation of the act from June-July, 2016,” Paswan told the house in a written reply to a question.
He said the act has already been implemented in 33 states and Union Territories.
