New Delhi : Agricultural loans, employment and electricity for farming are the top priorities for 68 percent of the rural voters in Tamil Nadu, a survey has shown.
The survey of over 16,000 respondents by the Association for Democratic reforms (ADR) was conducted in each of the 234 assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu and ended in February 2016.
ADR is a non-political organisation working to help improve conduct of elections and strengthen democracy.
“Asked to list their top three priorities, they said agricultural loans, employment and electricity for agriculture. For 24.75 percent voters, agricultural loans availability was one of the top three priorities,” the survey said.
“About 22.8 percent respondents said the same for better employment opportunities and 20.72 percent listed power for agriculture. About 68 percent voters gave one of these three as their top priority,” it added.
