For five times a day the ‘Azaan’ is heard which is a disturbance for me to sleep. The loudspeakers of other devotional centres have to be turned off while the Azaan is on”. He compared the call for ‘namaz’ from mosques to that of the barking of street dogs. The probe was ordered after Kollam Rural SP received a complaint against Pillai.

The Punalur DySP has been deputed to hold a probe into the speech. Kollam Rural SP Ajeetha Beegum told media persons that action will be taken if complaint is proved to be true.

The speech is said to have been made at Kamukumchery in Pathanapuram in Kollam district of Southern Kerala while addressing the annual conference of Nair Service Society local unit.

“Earlier, the number of churches was less, but now there are churches everywhere. If ten Muslims or Christians live together in a place, they will construct a mosque or a church there, which will affect the Hindu legacy,” Pillai is heard saying in the clip.
