New Delhi : Vice President Hamid Ansari on Thursday condoled the death of former parliamentarian and Governor A. R. Kidwai.
In a message, the Vice President said that Kidwai upheld the highest Gandhian values and served the nation as a freedom fighter, an able administrator, a member of the parliament and an educationist.
“I am deeply grieved to learn about the demise of A.R.Kidwai, former Governor of Bihar, Haryana and West Bengal. I convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved members of the family and join the Nation in praying for eternal peace for the departed soul,” the Vice President said.
Kidwai, who is survived by two sons and four daughters, passed away on Wednesday at a hospital here after a brief illness. He was 96. He will be laid to rest on Thursday at the Jamia graveyard.
