New Delhi : The BJP on Wednesday slammed the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government for the unparliamentarily behaviour meted out to the government officials and said the ruling party believe in “browbeating any voice of dissent”.
“We condemn the unparliamentarily behaviour meted out by the Delhi Chief Minister and his ministers to the officials working in Delhi,” Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in-charge Shyam Jaju told reporters here.
“It seems there is a total lack of democratic spirit of cohesive working in Kejriwal government and they believe in browbeating any voice of dissent, be it of officials or political opponents,” Jaju alleged.
“The resolution passed by the officers’ association speaks volumes on Kejriwal government’s atrocious behaviour and keeping in view the fact that this is not first such step taken by them,” he said.
“It seems to be a part of strategy to force the officials to toe the political line of AAP,” Jaju said.
The Delhi BJP leader also said earlier this year, a similar resolution was also passed by the officers’ association.
Jaju said ever since Kejriwal came to power, he has tried to cripple the working of the three Municipal Corporations in Delhi by denying the statutory funds, creating administrative hurdles and going as far as to instigating municipal workers to strike work by giving them wrong facts on salary funds.
Jaju also accused the Aam Aadmi Party and its government in Delhi of defaming the MCDs as ineffective bodies.
