New Delhi : BJP President Amit Shah on Thursday appointed party MP Poonam Mahajan as president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, the party’s youth wing.
Mahajan, the daughter of late party leader Pramod Mahajan, will replace Anurag Thakur, who is also a Lok Sabha MP and BCCI chief. Thakur was appointed BJYM chief in June 2010.
The party also appointed Bhadohi MP Virendra Singh Mast as president of party’s Kisan Morcha. He replaces Vijay Pal Singh Tomar in the post.
In another appointments, Chattisgarh MP Ram Vichar Netam has been appointed chief of party’s Scheduled Tribe Morcha while MP Vinod Sonkar has been appointed president of Scheduled Caste Morcha.
Former Uttar Pradesh MP Dara Singh Chouhan has been appointed president of party’s OBC Morcha.
These appointments were announced by BJP General Secretary Arun Singh.
