IUML takes a dig at MIM over secrete deal with BJP; MIM threatens of legal action

By A Mirsab, TwoCircles.net,

Mumbai: In order to utilize deregistration of All India Majlees Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and woo Muslim voters in the upcoming Mumbai civic polls, the Mumbai unit of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) termed AIMIM a ‘non-serious party’ who has nexus with BJP as alleged by the former BJP MLA Yatin Oza.

In a press conference held here on Saturday Parvez Lakdawala, President of IUML Mumbai Unit took a fresh salvo at MIM and said it that the fresh revelation by Oza has proved that MIM operates with ‘communal and divisive politics’ as like BJP.

MIM has objected to IUML’s criticism and threatened of sending a legal notice the way it sent to Oza and media portal Janta Ka Reporter for reports of purported secret meeting between MIM and BJP prior to last year Bihar assembly election.

Former BJP MLA Yatin Oza, who is planning to join AAP, last week claimed in a letter written to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleging that BJP President Amit Shah and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had “struck a deal” at a meeting ahead of Bihar Assembly polls last year to “polarise” votes in the Muslim-dominated northern belt. Both BJP and MIM have vehemently denied it.

Speaking to the media, Lakdawala said the true face of MIM has came to the fore and IUML will make people aware about their nexus with BJP. “We knew BJP uses MIM to polarize voters but Oza’s letter removes the doubt if some people harbored about MIM’s real motive”, Lakdawala said.

Taking exception to this, Waris Pathan, MIM MLA from Byculla said that the central command of MIM has already sent a legal notice to Oza for leveling baseless charges and to media portal for false reporting, therefore it is not good for IUML to rake up that issue.

“We shall scrutinize what IUML has said against us and then will take legal course unless it offers apology”, Pathan told to a local media.

He also said that MIM works for the welfare of community and therefore it enjoys huge support. “We are growing because we work and people are entrusting faith in us otherwise IUML is in Mumbai since 20 years and its members are failing in all elections”.
