28 crores to develop places related to Dr. Ambedkar

Mumbai: It may be an unrelated move but in the wake of historic Ambedkar Bhavan destructoin on Saturday June 25th, the Government of India today announced allocation of additional funds of Rs. 28.81 crores to develop three places related to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment made the annouocement today. Out of the additional funds, Rs. 9.41 Crore has been given for renovating Deeksha Bhoomi at Nagpur, Rs. 2.36 Crore for development of places at Mohad and Rs. 17.03 Crore for the development of places at Chincholi.

These allocations have been approved by Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment as a part of 125th Birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. BR. Ambedkar.

Even though annoucement was made today, 50% of the amount allocated for Deeksha Bhoomi has already been released to the District Collector, Nagpur to speed up the work.
