New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh on Saturday slammed Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad for drawing a parallel between the RSS and terror outfit Islamic State (IS), saying it showed the “ideological bankruptcy of Congress”.
Addressing mediapersons in Rajasthan, J. Nandakumar, the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Saha Prachar Pramukh, said: “The statement of Ghulam Nabi Azad comparing RSS with ISIS shows the ideological bankruptcy of Congress as well as Ghulam Nabi Azad to deal with the terrorist outfits like ISIS.”
“It is a sort of unwillingness of Congress to deal with extremist elements like ISIS and other terrorist organisations and to face the challenges raised by them,” he added during the ongoing Akhil Bharathiya Prathinidhi Sabha (ABPS 2016) in Rajasthan’s Nagaur city.
Addressing the ‘National Integration Conference’ organised by Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind in Delhi, Azad said: “…So, we oppose organisations like ISIS, the way we oppose RSS. If those among us in Islam too do wrong things, they are no way less than RSS.”
The RSS is the ideological mentor of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the country.
