Nagaur (Rajasthan): RSS activists will soon be seen in brown trousers in place of their traditional khakhi shorts.
“We have taken the decision to change the dress of swayamsevaks. We have decided to replace khakhi shorts with brown coloured full pants,” Bhaiyaji Joshi, an RSS leader, told the here on Sunday.
Many view this as a move to attract more young people towards the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).
“It may take four-six months’ time as the message on change of dress has to be communicated to at least 50,000 villages, towns and cities in the country,” Joshi said.
Joshi said there was no specific reason for opting brown colour except that it was easily available and the colour looks good.
The RSS leader felt that pants would in no way affect the exercise and drills of ‘swayamsevaks’.
“Cricket and judo-karate players and people who do yoga also wear track suits and full pants. So it is wrong to say that wearing pants will affect training or exercise of swayamsevaks,” said Joshi.
