Kolkata : Former West Bengal minister and Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) veteran Debabrata Bandyopadhyay died here on Saturday, the party said. He was 90.
Bandyopadhyay died at a city hospital, said RSP state secretary Kshiti Goswami.
He became the panchayat minister in 1977 under chief minister Jyoti Basu when the Left Front came to power in the state.
Condoling his death, Left Front chairman Biman Bose and Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) state secretary Surjya Kanta Mishra remembered Bandyopadhyay’s contribution towards strengthening the secular and democratic movement in the state.
