New Delhi : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will address a public meeting in Azadpur Mandi in north Delhi on Thursday against the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes.
West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee will also address the meeting.
“I will hold a public meeting at Azadpur Mandi at 11 a.m. Mamata Banerjee will also address the gathering,” the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader said in a tweet.
Kejriwal on Wednesday skipped the Trinamool Congress march to Rashtrapati Bhavan here to protest against the Centre’s November 8 demonetisation move.
He also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he had ‘cheated’ the country.
“This demonetisation move is the biggest scam of independent India. (Modi) Compelled the starving public to stand in queues after taking money from the rich. Modi ji cheated the country,” Kejriwal said in another tweet.
Kejriwal on Tuesday accused Modi of receiving bribes as Gujarat Chief Minister and sought a judicial probe. The Delhi assembly also sought a reversal of the demonetisation move.
