At Delhi’s ‘Karbala’, anti-terrorism day marks Imam Husain’s Arba’een

New Delhi: On the occasion of Arba’een or Chehlum of Imam Husain, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh), Anjuman-e-Haideri (Delhi) called upon people from all faiths to observe the day as “Anti-Terrorism Day”, bringing together scholars, spiritual leaders from different faiths and ambassador, diplomats from Iraq, Syria and Russia.

For the second year in a row, the event condemned terrorism and created awareness among people, along with bringing diplomats and ambassadors from countries suffering from menace of terrorism and those fighting against it.

The event, which took place on Monday November 21st at Dargah Shah e Mardan, Jor Bagh in Delhi was attended by more than 50,000 people.

Ambassador of Iraq to India and diplomats from Russia and Syria shared the dais with religious leaders and vowed to fight terror together.

“Iraq is right now going through a very difficult phase. We are against terrorism and our fight against terrorism will continue. We got millions of people fighting against Islamic State in Iraq who are inspired by the sacrifices made by Imam Hussain (AS),” said Iraqi Ambassador to India, Fakhri Hassan Al-Issa.

The Iraqi Ambassador also focused on international community to come forward with humanitarian aid required for people who got displaced due to fight against terrorism in Iraq.
While appreciating Indian support to fight against terrorism, the Syrian diplomat thanked Indian people and Indian leadership for its continued support to Syria for their fight against Islamic State.

“The fight against Islamic stage is in decisive phase and we are hopeful that we will hear some good news in near future in this war on terror,” said the Syrian Diplomat.

General secretary of the All India Majlis Ulema Hind, Maulana Kalbe Jawad also condemned terror unleashed by Islamic state across the world.

Besides he spoke on sunni-shia in the Indian context, “We should take steps towards Sunni-Sjhia unity and we will fully cooperate in this regard,” he said.
