AMU condoles demise of noted journalist Farzand Ahmad

Aligarh: The Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief on the sad demise of noted journalist Farzand Ahmad, who breathed his last in Lucknow after prolonged illness.

Lt. Gen. Shah said that Ahmad, who also served as State Information Commissioner, Bihar and Adviser to Department of Vocational Education, Uttar Pradesh Government, created a niche for himself in the field of journalism through his hard work and determination. He said that Mr. Ahmad’s death had left a huge void in the media world, which would be difficult to fill. He prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and solace to the bereaved family.

The Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali said that Ahmad was a true representative of ethics based journalism and his name stood prominent amongst the people who are considered as the real strength of fourth pillar of democracy.

AMU Registrar, Prof. Asfar Ali Khan said that Ahmad commanded great respect and credibility in the media fraternity and his demise was an irreparable loss to Indian media. He said that the Aligarh Muslim University’s Public Relations Office was fully with the bereaved family in this moment of sorrow.
