Community Mobile Teaching Van from Pune to cover 10 states, 50 cities to reach over 1 lakh kids in its maiden journey

Pune: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Abdur Rahman on Sunday said that rapid educational empowerment of the Indian Muslims would result in greater integration of the community into the national mainstream of the society bringing in the desired goals of national development and progress.

The DIG was addressing a gathering of students, teachers, trainers, community elders, women and common masses at the Kausar Baug Masjid ground on the occasion of the official inauguration of the state of art Mobile Life Skills Training Classroom entitled Udaan Express (Education on Wheels ) by Kondhwa-based Raabta Foundation led by internationally acclaimed trainer Syed Saeed Ahmed.
Lamenting at the poor percentage of community representation in the civil services sector both at the central and state level, Rahman suggested that remedial measures need to be undertaken to ensure that community increases its strength in public services sector in accordance with its population proportion. He further stressed the need for adoption of new technology in different spheres of academic and social endeavor aimed at bringing in the desired results of growth in the community for the cause of national development.
The decorated Indian Police Service (IPS) officer is also the author of the famous Hindi book entitled “Sacchar Ki Sifarishein” (Recommendation of Sachar Committee Report) which has been received well by the political, intellectual class and policy makers of the country.
Udaan Express is a mobile classroom-cum-teaching van funded through a communitarian initiative aimed at bringing a change in the lives of the underprivileged and less education section of the society especially Muslim kids and disadvantaged groups of children across the country. The ambitious initiative being promoted as alternative source of education for the masses will witness the van criss- crossing ten states covering as many as 50 cities reaching over a lakh people in its maiden journey of about 7,500 kms from Bidar to Bihar.
The van is equipped with a projector and an LCD screen, pantry, mobile seating arrangement for children on lines of an international classroom. Dr Khursheed Malik, a US-based philanthropist extended his maximum contribution for the project along with ENA Foundation President Zubair Shaikh and Swamini Sarees Owner Riyaz Shaikh. Also present was Peepal Foundation President Vineet Kharat .The programme was moderated by Abdul Hamid Khan while vote of thanks was proposed by Adil Attar.
